Future of Hollywood

If anyone watched the Golden Globe Awards last night, there can only be a doubt in any faith left in Hollywood right now. Let's just look through some of the winners of awards:

Best Drama, Movie - "Brokeback Mountain" (a movie about gay cowboys)
Best Director - "Brokeback Mountain"
Best Screenplay - "Brokeback Mountain"
Best Song - "Brokeback Mountain"
Best Actor, Drama - Phillip Seymour Hoffman for playing homosexual writer Truman Capote in "Capote" (Heath Ledger from "Brokeback Mountain" was also nominated for this)
Best Actress, Drama - Felicity Huffman for playing a transgendered person in "Transamerica"
Best Actress, Comedy TV - Mary-Louise Parker for "Weeds" (this about a pot-smoking mom, and she beat out four of the actresses from "Desperate Housewives" - they were the only 5 people nominated)

Summation - if a movie or TV show has lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, sex, or drugs, it is what America wants to watch.

Huffman stated this, "I know as actors our job is usually to shed our skins, but I think as people our job is to become who we really are and so I would like to salute the men and women who brave ostracism, alienation and a life lived on the margins to become who they really are."

Lord have mercy on our country.
